Do Men Who Look At Porn Make Bad Lovers?

Hi all! Here’s this week’s offering from staff writer, Rigby Rat. For those who think about porn being a game changer for the bedroom, this is definitely worth reading. It’s necessary to put perspective on what we want to imitate and what is better left to the professionals.

If you’re a guy, and you view pornography, you know damn well you will have expectations.  You will expect her (wife, girlfriend, one-night stand) to look, perform, and respond like the two-dimensional, air-brushed babes who pout, pose, and expose themselves for the camera.  And when she doesn’t, you’re flummoxed.  Poor thing.

Porn purposely creates unrealistic fantasies in a guy’s gray matter.  Why?  Because pornographers know if men take fantasies into the bedroom,  they will fail as lovers.  Why do pornographers want you to fail between the sheets?  So they can hook you into buying their smut.  How else do you think Hugh Hefner got rich?  In 2009, Hef estimated his own net worth at $43 million.  But I digress.  Pornographers are not educators.  They do not teach men how to be stellar sex machines.  Instead, porn promotes masturbation, voyeurism, and unhealthy perceptions of women.  Is it any wonder your sexual maneuvers are mechanical and muddled?  You can thank your buddy Hef for making you inept.  It may be too late for you to convince your wife to stop making you sleep on the couch, but it’s not too late to guide your teenage son to steer clear of pornography.  Ignore porn, ask her what she likes.  Ignore porn, it’s overrated.  Ignore porn, it’s outdated.  Ignore porn, it messes with your head.  Yeah, both of them.
